Personal Injury Claims

If you suffer a personal injury, illness or disease as a result of somebody else’s negligence, you may be able to make a claim for compensation. The term “personal injury” is used to describe all types of injury from broken bones,  food poisoning,  asbestosis and even psychological illness.

With all personal injury compensation claims you need to prove that your injury, illness or disease was caused as a result of the negligence of another party and once you appoint a solicitor, their job is to assist you in compiling your evidence and presenting it to the insurers of the other party. If you are not sure whether you can hold anyone responsible for your accident or disease then please complete our claim information form, or telephone us on 0844 846 0499 for advice.

If you were partly to blame for your own accident, you may still be able to recover some personal injury compensation, although this will be less than if you were entirely blameless. Please telephone us on 0844 846 0499 for advice on whether you are likely to be able to recover some compensation.

Advice about what to do after suffering a personal injury

To help your personal injury case, you should report the accident to the person responsible for it, or to the police if appropriate, as soon as possible. It is often helpful to take photographs of the accident scene, if possible.

If you are intending to claim compensation for expenses such as prescription costs and travelling expenses, remember to keep receipts as evidence.

It often becomes more difficult to provide an accurate account of how the accident happened as time goes by - therefore you may find it easier to report your injury to a personal injury solicitor soon after the accident has happened.  At Accident Advice Solicitors we will be happy to provide you with our opinion of your chances of successfully making a claim for compensation, without any pressure for you to go ahead with the claim - the  decision is yours.

Please complete our claim information form, or telephone us on 0844 846 0499 for advice.
